Deux chorales ensemble à Albi

La musique a réussi à rassembler pour la quatrième fois deux groupes vocaux distants de plus de 60000 miles. La preuve est faite que la voix humaine reste un vecteur formidable pour rapprocher les hommes. C'était le deuxième concert à Albi pour ces deux chorales. Le vendredi 27 juillet, ce concert a attiré le nombreux public albigeois et tarnais amoureux du chant choral et la nef de la cathédrale était comble. En première partie, sous la direction d'Emmanuelle Izquierdo, l'«Ave Verum» de Mozart, le «Tollite Hostias» de Camille Saint-Saëns et le «In Memoriam» interprétés par les 70 choristes d'Assou-Lézert trouvaient tout particulièrement leur place sous les voûtes de la cathédrale Sainte-Cécile.

En deuxième partie, la prestigieuse chorale Aurora Singers de Palo Alto et son chef de chur Dawn Reyen ont conquis les spectateurs par leur dynamisme et leur qualité vocale. Les 50 choristes et leurs talentueux solistes nous ont fait découvrir la culture américaine au travers de leurs chants traditionnels et de leur negro-spiritual.

L'émotion a envahi les spectateurs quand les deux chorales ont entonné les gospels, le Canticorum de Haendel et le cantique de Jean Racine.

Après une semaine très dense en excursions dans notre région, la soirée d'adieu a été consacrée à la découverte de Toulouse-Lautrec animée par la compagnie «Ainsi Danse» d'Albi qui à travers une ballade dans les cabarets parisiens a pu faire apprécier son talent.

La présidente Létha Dawson a souligné la beauté des sites de notre région, son admiration pour la culture française et remercié l'équipe organisatrice pour son formidable accueil. Sans nul doute, les liens d'amitié se sont renforcés et d'autres rencontres sont à l'ordre du jour.

La présidente de la chorale Assou-Lézert, Sylvie Dupuy, ainsi que les choristes remercient les partenaires qui se sont associés à cet échange, en particulier le conseil général du Tarn, l'ADDA, les pianos «Daniel Parisot», la municipalité d'Albi pour la magnifique réception à la mairie. Nous adressons un remerciement tout particulier au père Jean-Claude Vinceneau, président de l'association Sainte-Cécile-Saint-Salvy. Merci enfin à notre fidèle public qui nous a renouvelé sa confiance et ses applaudissements.

The president Létha Dawson underlined the beauty of the sites of our area, her admiration for the French culture and thanked the organizing team for her formidable greeting. Without any doubt, the bonds of friendship were reinforced and other meetings are on the agenda.
